1. The service life of quartz watches

Generally, a large battery has a large capacity, and a lithium battery has a larger capacity than a silver oxide battery, and a large battery capacity has a longer service life. At the same time, it is also related to the circuit power consumption of the movement. The power consumption of a three-pin or multi-pin multi-function quartz watch is relatively large, while a two-pin watch with simple functions has the longest battery life. (Some can even be used for 3-4 years)

2. How to find out that the quartz watch battery should be replaced? 

1) Current quartz watches generally have a battery life indicator function.

The quartz watch with three hands (or with a second hand) basically has a battery life indicator function. When the battery capacity is about to run out and the voltage starts to drop, the second hand will pause for 4 seconds and then jump rapidly for 4 seconds (early watches are stopped for 2 seconds and then jump rapidly for 2 seconds). This function is called E.O.L (BATTERY END-OF-LIFE INDICATION).

When this phenomenon occurs, the battery must be replaced in time, during which the watch can last about a week to half a month after being transported. (The two-handed quartz watch does not have this function)

2) Imported watches indicate the date of the next battery replacement on the sticker on the back cover of the watch at the time of purchase.

When buying a quartz watch, you should notice that the next battery replacement date is indicated on the sticker on the back cover, but the actual battery life is usually longer.

3) Quartz watches suddenly appear to be slow or stop and go

When the battery power drops and the capacity is insufficient, the internal resistance of the battery will increase and the voltage will drop. Especially when there is a relatively large current output or the outside temperature is relatively low, the quartz watch will stop or suddenly appear to be slow or stop at times.

4) The digital display of the watch is dim, and the digital display disappears when there is an alarm function

The functions of turning on the lights and alarms of the digital display watch are particularly power-consuming. If the LCD digital display dims or even disappears when the lights and alarms are turned on, it means that it is time to change the battery.

By the way, the replacement of the quartz watch battery should be replaced with the original model as required, and you should not try to restore the power of the old battery by charging or burning. If the watch frequently needs to replace the battery, check the circuit of the watch for problems.
